Who publishes Crib and Collar
Crib and Collar publishes under its own name. It is not owned by a media group, retailer or brand, and no company outside the site has a say in what it recommends. The site is edited by Alex, who researches and writes every guide and is responsible for every pick. Alex uses a first name only for privacy and does not claim professional credentials or a test lab; the case for each pick rests on the sources linked at the bottom of every guide, which you can check yourself.
What Crib and Collar does
- Answers the buying question first: the pick at the top, then a comparison table, then the reasoning.
- Builds each pick from manufacturer specifications and manuals, published standards and safety guidance, and independent measurements where they exist. Every guide lists its sources.
- Names a best overall, a budget and a premium or alternative pick, and says who should skip each one.
- Links each product to a specific, checked product page, never a search page.
What Crib and Collar does not do
- It does not run a test lab and does not claim hands-on testing.
- It does not publish star ratings, invented scores, user reviews or testimonials.
- It does not accept payment, free products or sponsored posts from brands.
- It does not use countdown timers, fake stock warnings or other pressure tactics.
- It has no staff of experts. It is one editor working from published evidence.
What it covers
How Crib and Collar makes money
Crib and Collar is free to read, with no paywall or sign-up. How it is funded, all disclosed on the disclosure page:
- Affiliate commissions. Product links go to a specific Amazon product page and carry an Associates tag. If you buy, the site earns a commission at no extra cost to you. One page also links to a program sold through Digistore24, which pays a commission the same way.
- Advertising: none today. If display ads are added later, they will be labelled and the privacy policy updated first.
Brands cannot buy a pick, a ranking or a mention, and commissions never decide which product is recommended. Where no affiliate program exists, the guide links to the official site anyway.
